One of the primary missions partners of Lewisport Baptist Church is the International Mission Board. The IMB is the foreign missions arm of the Southern Baptist Convention and is currently responsible for more than 3500 missionaries worldwide. These missionaries take the gospel to some of the hardest to reach places on Earth, and our support is vital for them to be able to continue in the work to which God has called them.
Lewisport Baptist also partners with the North American Mission Board, supporting church planters and missionaries across North America. Particularly for LBC, we have entered into partnership with Radiant City Church in Boca Raton, FL. Radiant City are a diverse family on mission, devoted to pushing back the darkness with the light of Jesus. As part of that mission, in 2026, Radiant City will be planting another church in Lake Worth, FL called Glory City Church. LBC is excited to partner with both of these churches in regularly giving, and taking groups to support the ministry work done in South Florida.
Two of our state of Kentucky partnerships are with Sunrise Children’s Services and the Christmas Backpack ministry. Sunrise cares for hurting families and children in meaningful, gospel-centered ways, particularly through foster care and adoption. LBC is so thankful for the work of Sunrise and the opportunity we have to partner with them.
We also have the opportunity to send over 50 backpacks every year across our state to children who are in need of basic resources. These backpacks contain items ranging from clothes, toiletries, toys, and most importantly copies of scripture.
It has been incredible to see the growth of our food pantry at Lewisport Baptist over the last few years. The number of families we regularly serve has doubled to around 60 since 2023. Recognizing that food insecurity is a significant problem in our community, we are thankful to have the opportunity to host these monthly food distributions. We know this does not solve the food problems many in our community have, but we are hopeful that it is a helpful resource to those we serve.
